These new Clean Electricity credits provide incentives for the first time to any clean energy facility that achieves net zero greenhouse gas emissions. The credits also provide the ability for new zero greenhouse gas emissions technologies to develop over time, and are intended to provide long-term clarity and certainty to investors and developers of clean energy projects.

The funds will connect workers to clean energy job opportunities through upskilling and training, especially in disadvantaged communities.

The Inflation Reduction Act’s domestic content bonus applies to facilities and projects built using the required amounts of domestically produced steel, iron, and manufactured products.

The money could fund tens of thousands of eligible projects ranging from residential heat pumps and other energy-efficient home improvements to larger-scale projects such as electric vehicle charging stations and community cooling centers, according to senior officials in President Joe Biden’s administration.
